Trish &  Kris

​After studying fashion illustration in Boston Massachusetts, Trish worked as a visual merchandiser for Filene's Department Store in Downtown Boston, and in her off time created visual backdrops for fashion shows.  In 1989 she moved to Mesa, Arizona and started dv8murals in 1993.  Named so with the intention of referring to "deviating from the norm"  which at the time was a very one-dimensional approach to interior wall effects.  The business eventually grew when Trish's husband Kris, with a Rutgers Fine Arts background,  joined dv8 in creating some of the largest works to date with his expertise in bringing together those from various backgrounds; municipalities and retail chains, to artist collaborations and community input for design.  Kris brought a boundless approach to the work with his design input, outlook, and eventually to Trish's painting.  The result of such a collaboration is a style that can be realistic and three-dimensional, or impressionistic and painterly, on projects varying from powder rooms to entire sides of buildings. In 2004 Kris and Trish welcomed their two daughter's ages 6 and 10 and entered a new phase of juggling business and family. This time of adventure and growth, resulted in a new chapter where creativity developed closer to home. In 2017 after having raised their beautiful family, Kris and Trish collaborated on a new venture with Trish's parent's Jeanne and Dan, remodeling their 2300 sq' home in Mesa AZ. into a two family residence for both the couple's Kris and Trish (now empty-nesters), and Dan and Jeanne who were ready to down-size. Simplifinding, is a lifestyle name Trish and Kris coined for their next chapter of creativity centered around DIY, and a desire to enjoy life at a slower pace with more intention. They are currently exploring different avenues of creativity from Art Consulting, Generational Living, Scratch Cooking, Furniture Flipping, DIY Projects, Interior Design, and Murals (upon request).
